I've been thinking about this a lot since beating the dlc earlier this evening. Another potential connection I noticed: it has long been theorized Miquella and St. Trina are the same entity. Well, you can find St. Trina in the DLC. Looks very similar to Miquella, but has long flowing purple hair. The nearby cross also says "I abandon here my love". St Trina also asks us to stop Miquella becoming a god, calling him a "poor thing". Asks us to kill Miquella and grant him forgiveness. Reminds me of the moon boy being the last of Griffith's humanity and potentially being the key to stopping him.
